Kids’ Field Note

During a recent town festival, I had the chance to meet a special girl. The name of this girl is Maria Estella.  I met her during a carnival dedicated just to the kids that the town of Sorrento does every year.

This is Maria

Maria Estella is nine, and lives in the beautiful town of Sorrento, Italy.  She is the only child in her family. Her parents work hard to give her what she deserves. She is a sweetheart!  Her Dad works in a local store in town, while her Mom works as a teacher in a school in the next town called Piano. She likes to eat some Nutella with cookies for breakfast, a delicious slice of pizza for lunch, and for dinner some traditional Italian homemade food.

School is from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm here in this town.  Her Mom walks her to school. Although she does not live that far away from her home, Maria is too little to walk to school by herself.  Her favorite subject in school is art because she can draw what’s in her imagination. When she grows up, she would like to become an artist to change the world. She likes to play with her friends at school and after school.

Life at home is very lovely because her parents love her very much. They help her doing homework when she needs it. During the weekend, Maria’s parent try to take her out to places such as carnivals beaches, pools, and more.  She wishes to visit Walt Disney world in Orlando, Florida because she is a huge fan of Disney.  She likes to listen to the Disney songs as well watch Disney movies. Her favorite place that she has been is Disney Paris (or Euro-Disney as the locals call it), which is located outside of Paris, France.  Although she does not speak English, she would like to learn English as her second language. She wishes to have American friends, so they can all go together to Disney and enjoy a wonderful time!
